Masdar City, United Arab Emirates
Architects: Foster + Partners
Regional architectural influences determine the design
On a six square kilometre plot, Masdar City explores sustainable technologies and the planning principals of traditional Arab settlements to create a desert community that aims to be carbon neutral and almost zero waste. The Masdar Institute is the first building to be completed and is powered by on-site renewable energy. Strict regulations and eco-balances for the use of energy and resources apply to all building projects within the masterplan.
For GROHE, sustainability is an integral part of the corporate culture. As an official Masdar City partner, GROHE is therefore providing its support in relation to the sustainable use of water. All the GROHE products used are subject to scrutiny in terms of their fabrication and economical consumption properties.
